City of Austin Mayor and Council Elections
March 29th, 2009 · Announcements
Harris Ridge Home Owners Association (HRHOA) is a nonprofit organization and thus does not endorse political candidates. However, you, as home owners in the association should be aware that a mayoral and city council election for the city of Austin will be held in May. As such, when you cast your vote, please be aware that the only City Council member supporting our homeowner’s association in its opposition to the last zoning petition was Lee Leffingwell. As you may recall, the last zoning petition was filed by the developers of Vina Plaza and did not allow Josh Ridge to go through to Harris Ridge. As a result of our city council supporting Vina Plaza’s petition, our neighborhood streets, especially Briargate and Bennington continue to be used as pass through streets for others, including the Harris Glen neighborhood. Get election information here .

Here are the minutes from the last two board meetings in 2008.
November 2008 Minutes:

December 2008 Minutes:
december-2008-board-mtg-minutes.pdf
We apologize for not getting the November minutes up sooner.
At each board meeting, the board reviews the minutes from the last meeting and approves them. Once they are approved, we’ve been posting them here. Because we wait until the next board meeting to approve minutes, there will be at least a month lag from the meeting date until they are posted here on the website.
Coyotes
January 7th, 2009 · Around the Neighborhood
We’ve had recent reports of coyotes in our neighborhood.
If you see a coyote, call 3-1-1.
Per the City of Austin, here are ten things residents can do to help the situation immediately:
1. Do not feed coyotes, deer or other wildlife!
2. Eliminate sources of water.
3. Position bird feeders so that coyotes can’t get the feed. Coyotes are attracted by bread, table scraps, and even seed. They may also be attracted by birds and rodents that come to the feeders. They are also attracted to deer feed.
4. Do not discard edible garbage where coyotes can get to it.
5. Secure garbage containers and eliminate garbage odors.
6. Feed pets indoors whenever possible. Pick up any leftovers if feeding outdoors. Store pet food where it is inaccessible to wildlife.
7. Trim and clean, near ground level, any shrubbery that provides hiding cover for coyotes or prey.
8. Don’t leave small children unattended outside if coyotes have been frequenting the area.
9. Don’t allow pets to run free. Keep them safely confined and provide secure nighttime housing for them. Walk your dog on a leash and accompany your pet outside, especially at night.
10. If you start seeing coyotes around your home or property, chase them away by shouting, making loud noises or throwing rocks. Carrying a stick, baseball bat or a golf club will also scare them away.
