I was wondering about whether there is anything we can do about the loud music coming from the dancehall on the corner of Dessau and Howard. It can be really loud at times.
Also, new sprinklers were installed in the easement between the houses in the Enclave section. I have noticed that they water every day. Are we required to follow the watering restrictions imposed by Austin?

Is the board going to be discusing the budget soon? If so, is the board going to open up the meeting and discussions to the neighborhood? I would like to see the board stay within their budget instead of automatically raising our assessments each year. I think the assessment is high enough, its time for some cost cutting.

Tonya,
Thanks for sharing your concerns, we’ll discuss those at the meeting.
Tracy,
I agree that we should be cutting costs and not automatically raise assessments. To say that we’ve “automatically” raised assessments every year is not accurate. Expenses to the HOA have dramatically risen over the last several years and so assessments unfortunately had to follow.
The board will probably discuss the budget in the November meeting and we are currently hoping to not raise assessments. However, that decision will only be made after considering the projected expenses and needs of the neighborhood.
Fortunately for our neighborhood, our dues are significantly lower than most of the people I talk with that live in other neighborhoods.
I’m a homeowner like you and personally don’t want to have to pay more than is required so it has always been with a heavy heart when we’ve had to approve increases in the past.

Tonya,
As a follow up, your best course of action is to contact the respective City authorities in each of these cases.
With the loud music: call 911
The easement in the Enclave is still being maintained by David Weekley so please call 311 for watering issues.
